A Rare Window of Time: Don’t Miss What’s Happening Right Now

faith May 05, 2026

Life is full and busy—especially for moms. But every once in a while, something significant unfolds that is worth pausing for.

Right now feels like one of those times.

Across just a few short weeks, we are seeing an unusual convergence of events centered around Scripture, prayer, and spiritual renewal in our nation:

America Reads the Bible (April 18–25)
A historic gathering at the Museum of the Bible where Scripture was read aloud from Genesis to Revelation—featuring nearly 500 voices, including our President reading 2 Chronicles 7:14.

National Day of Prayer (May 7)
Celebrating 75 years, with the theme: “Glorify God Among the Nations—Seeking Him in All Generations.”

National Jubilee of Prayer (May 17)
A gathering on the National Mall for Scripture, testimony, prayer, and the rededication of our nation, leading up to the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

Baptize the World (May 24 – Pentecost Sunday)
Churches around the world joining together in baptism.

All of this is happening within just a few weeks.

As I’ve reflected on this—and even learned how these dates align with significant biblical moments in Exodus and Acts—something has stirred in my heart.

In Exodus 19, the people of God gathered and declared, “We will do everything the Lord has said.” They consecrated themselves, and God met them in a powerful way.

In Acts 2, believers gathered again—waiting, seeking—and the Holy Spirit came like fire.

Two different moments in history. But common threads:
People gathered and seeking God. Same timeline. God moving.

It leads to a simple but weighty question:

What might God want to do in hearts that are ready right now?

Even before recognizing how these dates aligned, my husband Chris and I felt prompted to lead a 21-day prayer journey. We began on May 4, and it just so happens to span this exact window of time.

We’re calling it “Seek His Face.”

This isn’t about adding more to an already full schedule. It’s about being intentional in a moment that feels significant. It’s about slowing down just enough to notice what God may be doing—and choosing to respond.

If you’re sensing the same invitation, here are a few simple ways to lean in:

  • Use a National Day of Prayer family guide with simple prompts for all ages
  • Tune in to the National Jubilee of Prayer on May 17
  • Consider baptism on May 24 (Pentecost Sunday)
  • Set aside intentional time to seek the Lord in prayer, whether individually or with others
  • Join our Seek His Face 21-day prayer experience

Moments like this don’t come around often.

They pass quickly if we’re not paying attention—but they can shape us deeply if we are.

What would it look like for you and your family to be intentional during this time?

My prayer is that this would be a season where we draw near—and see God move in fresh, powerful ways in our hearts, our homes, and beyond.

With you in prayer,
Brenna
