God's Got My Back (and yours, too)

Can I share something amazing with you? Earlier this year, I walked into a retreat with my back screaming at a level 9 pain. I could barely shuffle into the room, tears streaming, wondering how I could possibly deliver the one-hour keynote I was scheduled to give.

Then, as my dear friend Jill prayed for me, I heard the Lord whisper to my heart: “I’ve got your back.” Moments later, as I started walking toward the stage, the pain went from a 9…to ZERO. Completely gone. I gave that message with full focus, packed up after a full day, and never once thought again about my back.

Isn’t God good? πŸ™Œ

That moment was a vivid reminder to me that our God is greater than any attack of the enemy, stronger than any pain, and faithful when we dare to trust Him.

Let me back up and give you the bigger picture. That same weekend was my Coach Mom Live Retreat. Eighty moms gathered—many foster and adoptive moms carrying unimaginable challenges. The enemy tried to stop the life-giving word from going out, but God showed up in power. His Presence and healing touched me, and I believe He touched every mom in that room, too.

This hasn’t been an easy year for me or my family. Just two days before celebrating my youngest daughter’s high school graduation, we laid my youngest son John to rest after his tragic car accident. Since then, I’ve also endured several random injuries—one even had me on crutches for a week. But I’ve also seen God heal: my back (healing #1 for 2025), my arm (healing #2), and now I’m trusting Him for healing #3—my knee.

Recently my friend Amy shared with me the song “God’s Got My Back” by Forrest Frank. Frank wrote this faith-declaring song just after breaking his back in a skateboard accident...and experienced a miraculous healing two weeks later! Click here to hear his one-minute testimony from that day!

Friend, maybe you’re carrying your own fears, anxieties, or heartaches today. Can I encourage you? Hand them over to the Lord. He truly has your back. He is stronger than the enemy who comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. Jesus promised that He came to give us life, and life abundant.

So what do you need to entrust to Him today? A relationship? A diagnosis? A situation that feels too heavy? Or maybe your whole life? Jesus is waiting with open arms.

I’m praying for you, friend. And I would treasure your prayers for me, too.

To God be the glory—great things He has done!
